| Charlene K. Schneider, Ph.D. Offering a safe, confidential environment, Dr. Charlene Kamin Schneider invites clients to embark on a journey of discovery. As a guide equipped with training and expertise, Dr. Schneider joins clients as they discover self-esteem, self-awareness and self-respect. Dr. Schneider received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Miami University's APA (American Psychological Association) approved program. Her studies emphasized women's issues, culminating in her dissertation on the experiences of depressed women. She completed her APA approved internship at the Psychological Services Center at the University Of Cincinnati, further developing her interest in women's issues, recovery from sexual abuse, gay and lesbian concerns, and multicultural issues. Her postdoctoral experience with the renowned eating disorders' specialists, Drs. Susan and Wayne Wooley at the Eating Disorders Clinic at the University of Cincinnati Medical College added this specialty to Dr. Schneider's areas of expertise. | |||
| Since completing her training, Dr. Schneider has counseled adults and adolescents, men, women, couples, and traditional and non-traditional families. Using her feminist perspective, she works to ensure that oppression and the damaging aspects of socio-culturally imposed gender roles are not overlooked in treatment. She has published numerous articles and presented extensively, both locally and at national conventions, on topics related to her areas of specialization. Dr. Schneider is a member in good standing of the American Psychological Association, the Ohio Psychological Association, the Cincinnati Academy of Professional Psychology, and is listed in the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology. | ||||
